I don't usually enlist until there's a nice ribbon displayed; just gotta have that morning pixel fix. Couldn't help being first in this case.

Now I just have to pick up a 262. I'm considering one of the HobbyBoss offerings.

I do believe that the year is slightly out. Surprising that I am listed as number 2. Should fix that or silly people like me will take it for fact.

Hi D, I'm so in .... but which kit do I choose??? The Dragon Mistel? The Trumpeter 1/32 scale offering (which I'm currently leaning towards) perhaps one of the Revell/Promodeller 1/72nd scale offerings? Actually I have an Aires cockpit for this kit in 1/72 might just try that ..... or I might find something online

Something to keep the interest going

Thanks for posting the video Jessica, I just watched it over a glass of Shiraz! Lots of great close up detail shots and plenty of really useful information.

Of particular interest to me were the extra two cables from the Ket to the rear wheels, and the different types of intake covers.

That's exactly the type of info I want to see posted to build up a really good reference library over the next 12 months.

That's a great video, good reference and will provide some inspiration. I have the Tamiya kit with the Kettenrad so you can imagine how enjoyable the video was for me. Good job.

It also explains the wire system when towing as any sideways movement on the nose gear would make it collapse! This jet would have been really scary if it had been made when german industrial might was at it's peak and qulity control was less of a problem!

The nose gear problem was more one of poor design choices than production quality. The steel tube chosen was not strong enough to do the job. The modern replicas which were built in the USA a few years ago had the exact same problem. I'm not sure why a stronger tube wasn't substituted but if I had to guess I'd say it was probably for weight and balance issues. (The replicas don't need to be armed, so they can get away with a heavier nose strut, and were quickly modified.)

And a simple suggestion for a ribbon . . .

Perhaps a red and black outline to give it a bit of colour?

Sound good Jessica, I will play around and see what I can do. Perhaps somebody with more compewda skills than me can see if they can convert the ribbon from .jpeg to .gif format? I got the size right but can't seem to manipulate the format

I'm sure Jessica will work her magic on this one, Damian. For future reference, you can download the free Pixillion Image Converter, and do all that fancy stuff yourself. That's what I did.

Thanks for the heads up Ben, I will give it a try. I have never had troubles in the past with this type of conversion, but this particular image just won't play ball!

I agree Robert, the side elevation looks better in this size. The front elevation looked great in the full size profile, I love the triangular fuselage, but it loses it's impact when reduced to ribbon scale.
