This review examines the vintage Aurora World War I Halberstadt CLII. It features good molding and detail for the era, plus figures and a display base.

Cheers Fred

I love these blasts from the past! I have to admit, the favourite part for me is the old adverts - Ohh, please, someone invent a time machine and I'd be back there snapping up everything! Not to translate into cash nowadays, but simply because that's modelling as I still remember it! The sheer excitement of seeing what was new in the model shop (no Internet heads ups - it REALLY was new!)

And if it was from the USA and you snapped it up (i.e. for me in Bromley, Kent, UK) - you were probably the ONLY kid in school to have one!

Keep 'em coming!

All the best

Awww Halberstadt....

I had one buried for years, made and painted. I found and bought an original kit. $50, but worth it. Only because I love the plane and the mission it flew.

the only thing that upset me with the kit was the observer not in a combat position. Still do.

I have the D-VIII as well $5 bargin (the box was bad).

Thanks Gents! I'd love to build this model! Yeah, the Halberstadt looks to me like a plucky banty rooster, tail high spoiling for a fight. A racy airframe that I think looks better than most Allied single-seaters!
