Hi Martyn, there's no mention ofwhat-ifs being disallowed in the rules so you may be all clear.
As for being too late to enlist, here on aeroscale you can enlist right up until the campaign ends. And we've got a bit of a wait for this one to start yet. You can sign up to this campaign here.

While we wait for this one to start check out the great build off campaign. We're all building the same excellent little kit in that one in a sort of friendly competition.

Sounds promising, but will patiently wait to ensure it's all clear like it sounds like. Also on the campaign page, I don't see a button or other option for enlisting. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place? Looking forward to this kit and campaign!

I'm not a software guy, but you might want to confirm that you're logged in. When you hit the link for the sign in, frequently it opens a new tab for the campaign page, and you're not logged in as far as that tab is concerned. Not sure if that's a bug or a feature..

Thanks, got enlisted officially. And I guess it'd depend who you asked as to which one that is.. anyway, looking forward to this!

My entry would most likely be a Meteor in camouflage.

So I'm torn between a Meteor or, presuming I can get one, a Bell P-59 Airacomet. I've been yearning to build an Airacomet but there's only one kit I'm aware of.

I think only Special Hobby has boxed it. Looks like they did 3 versions including a 2 seater.. I passed on the 2 seater last year at a model show, I'm starting to regret that.

Hobbycraft did a couple of boxings in 1/48 a few years back. Not terrible kits, here's one review, and another, and another . Sprue Brothers is showing them as still in stock, as well as the Special Hobby 1/72 kits.

Just signed up, I like the idea of this campaign it brought me out of props for a while. The list is a good one and I have been going over it, but cannot come to a conclusion for a build they all look great.

Just a reminder here, but there's still no ribbon loaded for this campaign. Always a good idea to have a flashy ribbon, it can drive enlistment!

Hi everybody,

I just enlisted. I don't know exactly what I'll be building but I think it will be something WWII german in 1:72 by Revell. I hope I'll find my Me 1099B.
By the way, are planes an "it" or a "she"?

Hello,
I'm in with the new Eduard MiG-15 bis (1:72).
I will build it with polish markings.

Happy modelling

I kind of like Jessica's ribbon idea, but perhaps the canopy should be solid black to look better when the size is reduced.

OK, so where is ribbon school located at? I am definitely not a graphic artist, but I'll step in an muck things up till a real artist shows up.....

Not much of a school, I'm afraid. The basic rules are that it has to measure 50x20 pixels and has to be .gif file. Other than that, you want it to signify your campaign and be simple enough to make out that small. I tend to create one using a graphics program (I use paint.net, it's free) at 500x200 then shrink it down to see how it looks.

Good luck, it'll be interesting to see what you come up with!

I am new here but this seemed like the right campaign to join. I looked down the list of first generation jet fighters and saw that I have already built a few so I might as well build another one. Not sure what yet, but I will find something.

Rob,

That doesn't look first generation. What is it?

Robert,

I'd vote to use that last one you did of the P-80 silhouette.

Michael,
That's a YF-100.

I believe it will work but I thought I should ask, will an XF-88 work for this campaign?

Here is a ribbon with an F-86.

Cheers Rob.

Hello folks,

I just signed on I have many early jets in the stash and plenty of time to hash it out.

I'm primarily an armor modeler being a retired US Army Tanker. I want to branch out some and the campaigns are a great way to do it. I have a battleship on the bench for a ship campaign.

Do all marks of F86 qualify?

Yes, F-86 is ok.
Check the list on the 1st page of this thread for suitable birds, any doubt or question feel free to ask.

I like both Ribbons so far.

The XF-88 fits the 1st Gen. Time period, 1948-49. That's ok.
