Howdy Y'all
Any word on this campaign? I think it's a good idea. I'm in if I'm not in the middle of a new job & home next year. Probably a WW II jet.
Thanks,
Don "Lakota"

Nothing yet Don.
I hope it gets the ok to go.. I'm keen on starting one of those early jets !

No news so far.
I'm guessing it's not going to happen .

Remember that at the moment we don't have any campaign admins (Hint: We're recruiting)
One of the tasks for the new admin(s) will be to review all the submissions.

Sorry Jessica, I didn't knew that.

On that hint note
I don't mind helping out if nobody else is available.

John, Just saw this campaign, and I had to jump in. The issue for me is narrowing down what I want to build. At this point it's a 1/48 scale Grumman F9F panther and or Cougar. Not even sure what variant yet. For that matter, I don't have either kit in my stash, but there are plenty of good kits out there.

Oh course by then the new Kitty Hawk 1/48 scale 1:48 TF-9J (F9F-8T) Cougars will be out. Would really like to do a Panther too.

@Joel

I don't have anything in stash at the moment, I'll find something for sure.

@Mark

Yup 11 months...
I wanted to propose a 2nd / 3rd / 4th and 5th Generation Campaigns , but with 11 months apart.. there's going to be a 6th or 7th Generation soon

I have a revell panther lying about. Not sure if I'll have time but it's definitely a possibility.

Sorry about how far out it is. There were a lot of proposals out there and I try to take 'em in the order they were submitted. I'm looking forward to starting myself!

Howdy Y'all
Eleven months is a long way out, too bad we couldn't relax the "no starting" rule a little. It actually works out well for me, I hope to be in a new job and moved to a new city and settled by then. I don't know what kit I'll build, leaning towards the Tamiya Me-262. I could go with the He-162, P-59, Gloster Meteor, but then I have 11 months to decide.
@ John-I'm with you, maybe it's time to propose the 2nd Gen Campaign so we can start right after Gen 1 is complete.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Over at Britmodeller they're already deep in discussion about which group builds to hold in 2015 so it's quite obvious it's not only our problem

I'm in! I will complete my De Havilland Twin Boom Odyssey by building Revell's repop of the old Matchbox Sea Venom in 1/32. Suez stripes methinks.

Hi to everybody! I'm new to Aeroscale and this will be my first entry, so please excuse, if there are some mistakes in the future. I know from following your site for a long time, that you will be so kind to help me.

So my entry will be the Revell Horten Go 229. Just to see, if there are still some modeling-skills after absence of the hobby for more then 20 years.

First question: do I have to buy the PhotoPost software to upload some pics, or is there another way? I know there is a tutorial, but just wasn't able to find it (I'm still definitely not skilled in microelectronics). Maybe Jessie comes in for rescue...

Ohh I'm in! I was going to build my Hobby Boss 1/48 P-80A next but I'll set it aside until the campaign. My entrant:

Lockheed YP-80A s/n 44-83028 from Project Extraversion in operational livery.

Hi Stefan,

you can use any free software like Paint or a free online tool like,

http://pixlr.com/editor/

Just upload the photo to your computer, resize or crop to a smaller size ( I usually resize my photos to 33% or 40%) and then upload the image to a Photobucket account and post the link .
Like this photo from Wikipedia, using the tool provided between the text box and the smiley's board.

Thanks! I hope to get it managed until the campaign starts. In the workbench section I got one uploaded direct from my pc, but now I don't get it deleted. I think we're learning everyday...

Welcome to Aeroscale, Stefan! You don't need to buy any special software to post pictures here. If you want to resize your pictures there are several different freeware programs you can get such as Ifranview, Gimp or Paint.net. As a member of Aeroscale you have a space in the image gallery (look at the black bar on the top of the page. The Gallery is found between "Events" and "Links" on the right hand side of the screen. Follow this tutorial to use it.)

The only problem with the gallery is because we have so many members it can't hold many pictures so many of us use another photo hosting site like Photobucket, Imageshack or Flickr to host our pictures.

Regardless where you host your pictures, the way to insert an image is pretty simple. Whenever you're writing a post, you'll see 7 little white buttons just below the area you type in. the far right-hand button says {img} (except that the brackets are square). Click that button whenever you want to insert a picture and you'll see this appear:
{img}http://put.url.here/image.file{/img}
(once again, the brackets will be square in real life)

Go to your image hosting site, select your picture, and copy its URL. The fastest way to do that is to hover your mouse pointer over the picture, click the right mouse button and select "copy image location" from the little menu which pops up.

Come back to Aeroscale, and replace the text which says "http://put.url.here/image.file" with the URL that you just copied. I like to use browser tabs which let me easily switch between Aeroscale and my hosting site as many times as I like. This is useful for inserting multiple pictures in one post.

Enjoy your stay in Aeroscale. If you have any questions at all, all of us will be happy to answer them. Happy building!

Thanks again, Jessie! I was sure you don't get tired of helping every new member (and in my case also ham-fisted in the work with new medias). So for now I have an idea what's to do next to share some work and experiences with you. After following Aeroscale for more than a year, I know, that really nice people are around here and I'm really looking forward to the comments and help, you all will suggest.

Cheers, Stefan

Hello everyone, is it still possible to enlist in this campaign? I just joined Aeroscale today, so I'm sure that as a rookie here I'll make some mistakes. Thanks in advance for any help you can/will probably give me! I've been building kits for about 12 years but I know my skill level isn't super high; I do have fun anyway, though. Upon finding this campaign I was kind of elated because I just picked up a kit that fits the bill this afternoon.

My question is whether what I have in min for my kit would fit with the campaign. It's a Tamiya 1:48 scale Republic F-84G Thunderjet, but I intend on painting it with alternate markings. Rather, alternate history markings. As in, I intend to use markings from an Fw. 190D on it to make kind of an alt-history Luftwaffe Thunderjet.

Thanks for your time!

Hi Martyn, there's no mention ofwhat-ifs being disallowed in the rules so you may be all clear.
As for being too late to enlist, here on aeroscale you can enlist right up until the campaign ends. And we've got a bit of a wait for this one to start yet. You can sign up to this campaign here.

While we wait for this one to start check out the great build off campaign. We're all building the same excellent little kit in that one in a sort of friendly competition.
