Ahh! So that was what they were thinking
. Here's another update, I’ve done the first round of weathering and applied all the decals. I did however not realize that the deadline was so soon so I will probably not finish in time as I’m going away on a skiing trip till new years.

....and I'm done! I can't tell you how glad I am to put this nightmare of a kit behind me, and get back to something more pleasureable(like sticking needles in my eyes!) 
I am sure that some will spot the odd window where there isn't supposed to be one, I'm just grateful that it looks somewhat like a helicopter.

I wouldn't worry to much about the deadline. As the campaign leader and I like to think of my self as a nice guy, I will still award a ribbon after the deadline to anyone that completes their entry within a reasonable time frame after the campaign officially ends (not only that it'll give me time to get back to the bench and finish my Lancaster I did however not realize that the deadline was so soon so I will probably not finish in time as I’m going away on a skiing trip till new years.

Jakob, that canary is stunning. Yellow is so difficult to apply and weather but you've nailed it.
Rich, I used to have one of those round the corner at warplane heritage museum but I went round yesterday and it's gone! Part of the eternal game of musical chairs among aircraft museums...

Try looking for it in Ottawa. I think that's where it's permanent home is.

It's funny. That things been in Hamilton for ages. And it isn't theirs. Quizzically there's a kiowa and a widgeon on their permanent collection list that I have never seen.
That s51 is a terrifying looking thing indeed. It's half the size it appears in pictures and the wasp junior is just so tiny in it. Cockpit is like a Tom Collins glass on its side.
Strictly speaking I think if I saw one coming my way I'd hardly feel like I was being rescued. More like out of the frying pan...

There is something about the S51 that kept calling me!
Not an easy model to build, The instruction /assembly orders have not been followed to closely.
The cockpit is 5 parts and assembly to be built on cockpit frame I have built it on bench and fitted it to frame other wise vac parts are like trying to glue jello!
I will check out Ottawa Air Museum early next year.

Museums do a lot of that. It allows people in different areas to experience things they otherwise wouldn't. And for the ones not on display it's likely they still need a lot of work.

Compared to splashing around keeping sharks at bay, getting into a hysterical palm tree is very much the lesser of two evils

The end is in sight, almost done with decals, and need to attach LG, underwing bits, etc.

Thanks Ben, The Albatross was a very appealing bird, and I like this color scheme.
Decals done and all sealed down, floats and wheels on.
just some minor touch ups to do, filling in the windows with Krystal Kleer, and some exhausts stains.
The landing gear was a make-or-break, but they went together quite well and they are much sturdier than they look.
Im a little disapointed in my tail number decal. since I cant print white letters on clear film, I have to attempt to match the color and print solid color with white letters on white film. The color match looked perfect off the printer, but darkened quite a bit when I hit it with fixitive. oh well not going back.
Edit to add, if anyone is curious, here and here are some refference photos on the WIX forum, by Mr. James Voss.
I plan to build models of many of the planes in these two galleries.
