Brigadier General Robin Olds is one of America''s better known aces, with kills in World War II and Vietnam. In WWII he flew in the 434th Fighter Squadron, 479th Fighter Group. Both Brig. Gen. Olds and the 434th are featured in the Hoosier Air Museum, Auburn, Indiana.

during WWII Olds was based at Wattisham, Suffolk (England). There is a very fine airfield museum here too. Not specifically devoted to Olds as Wattisham was home to the last RAF F-4 Phantoms of 74 Sqn (among others). As Wattisham is still an operational airfield (Apache helicos) visits are by appointment only on Sundays..

Thanks for showing us around the museum, Fred. Over here we don't often get the chance to visit a military museum in the US.
