The Super DC-3 was Douglas' attempt to modernise the DC-3 in the years following the Second World War. It was a technical success but a market failure due to the presence in the marketplace of surplus C-47s. Welsh Models has produced a kit featuring the markings of Capital Airlines, the only operator to purchase the Super DC-3 for the civillian sector.
