Well here the update as promissed!
I'm racing now to try get this finished for the IMSS show on the 28th of this month!

Since my last post I got the interior finished, added the seats, steering wheel and seatbelts etc.
Using some wall-paper paste I dampened some tissue and made a canvas cover over the cab.
I added some Eduard PE Modern Camo netting to the canvas top, this was a nightmare to glue into place as the canvas (Tissue) kept obsorbing the glue before the Photo-Etch could set and dry on it!

Here's the result so far! Still some touching up to do..

I painted up the GPMG and the 40mm Grenade MG..

Now you have likely heard me mention the work being done on the wheels the past few weeks. Unfortunatly the wheels in the model kit are totally useless to me for building the military Ford. Not only are the hubs completely different but the tyres in the kit are road wheels and the Irish Fords are all-terrain wheels!

The job was too big, complicated and time-consuming for me to produce a new set of wheels so I commisioned a good friend and one of Irelands most talented Scratchbuilders Mr. Aaron Smith to reproduce a new Wheel for me to cast.
For those of you who dont know Aaron he's a show winner at most competitions he enters and only recently won Gold at the IPMS Telford gig with a 100% scratchbuilt scale Gustav 9mm Sub Machine Gun (Irish Defence Forces).

Aaron took one of the old wheels and rebuilt the main hub in superb detail including an amazingly detailed Differential-Lock in the centre!
To solve the problem of the changing the standard wheel into an all terain one Aaron reworked the pattern and curved the edges of the tyre adding a pattern overflowing onto the side wall from the surface of the tyre simulating the Off-Road pattern.
To my surprise when I saw it today, Aaron had also skillfully added the brand name of the producer on the tyre wall, pretty impressive!!

So here is the new wheel, which BTW COST me the price of lunch for all you stuffy folks who think I got a freebie and broke any rules ..Cheers Aaron!

As you can see from the picture its already sitting in a cast box. I am already in the process of moulding a cast of the new wheel with the intention of producing 4 new resin wheels and 1 spare!

..updates to follow soon

Harm;
Sorry mate, I have trawlled over the 40mm for ages trying to figure out where you can see that gap. The only thing I can think of is that you might be looking at where the elevated handle/bar (for placing over the gunners shoulder) meets the main gun. This section has a bend in it which might appear as a gap but is not ..if you see it again it later photos please to let me know.

Karl;
Thanks mate! Yeah I'm working on a 40mm feed for the gun from an ammo box, hoping to get some results today

Glen, Alan;
Cheers lads for the encouragment!! Looking forward to seeing you both next Thursday at the Club!

Thanks for all your support in the meantime guys, I really appreciate it
