I had an email from Pete Readman today :-

I am sorry to say we had some made-up models stolen during the set up for Modelfest.

We can pin the time down to almost exactly 8:13am. It would appear two bald headed men left in a blue Mondeo, taking a box of ship models belonging to an IPMS Farnborough member which had been left near the front entrance to the show.

If you have any information on this, or saw anything suspicious can you please tell me?

Many thanks,
Pete

If Andy B , Luciano or Sean saw anything odd, please either PM me or get in touch with Pete.

For the rest of us we must be aware there are some unsociable people out there, we need to be on our guard and not leave the stand un-attended. I know for sure i leave my camera behind the stand and obviously out purchases, all of which could dissappear, let alone models, before the show is even open to the public!!

This is in deed sad news and something you don't expect, I feel for the person that has lost what may have been a year or mores work.
Like many of us I do tend to leave my camera behind the stand and like wise any purchases. We must not let this ruin our hobby but we must also be aware that it happens and keep an eye open for any thing that looks out of the ordinary.

What a bugger. This (plus probing fingers) is why I ensure that whatever stand I'm on is always manned. Well, that and being polite - being there to answer questions, that sort of thing.

That is terrible news, I cannot believe the audacity of some people.
Lets hope the buggers are caught.

Andy, I'm furious to hear of such a horrible thing happening at your event.

These guys have no respect and I hope they feel the full force of the law.

I will call down an ancient Aussie curse upon them . . . .

"May all of your chooks turn into Emu's and knock down your bloody shed !!"

And may the models be returned safely.

Cheers, D
