Here is a review of Eduard's 1:48 Albatros D.III. Not a new kit but a new Profipack boxing for those wanting a little bit more than what is provided in the Weekend Edition.

Minor problem with the markings for D - Hans-Georg Lübbert – Jasta 11 / Rudolf Hohberg – FA(A)263.

The colour fields on the fuselage were quartered not halved. Ltn. Lübbert was nicknamed "The bullet catcher." Hence the patches on the vertical fin.

It is one of my Alb. D.III builds from 1999. I did some research touching base with author Greg VanWygarden.

when this came out originally, it was and still is the best Albi in this scale and still one of the best kits Eduard did, it's good to see it back... I even used one to *improve* their DV offering substantially, not that I ever finished that..hmmm now where is that stashed? I wonder :-P

Upper image has the old early kit wheels.

Lower image has the newer mold wheels. Landing gear is shaped & bent brass 'STRUTZ' rod.
