AMPS-Israel is a new chapter of AMPS starting in Israel, to gather all armor modellers and their related subject into a nice place where we can all learn about armor subjects and share our knowledge through modeling. To that end a core of modelers is being set to create the chapter. This will also answer the call of some who are not satisfied with the current options.
So whether if you just want to join us, or maybe give a helping hand - you can contact me.

So, pop down your hatches and get moving!

some info from the founder:

Quoted Text

The Armor Modeling and Preservation Society, Inc., or AMPS, was founded in July 1993.(The Israeli chapter is just forming) Since that time, AMPS has grown to nearly 600 members worldwide. Although AMPS's main function is as a modeling club, it is definitely a different type of modeling organization compared to IPMS or other mainstream groups. AMPS has a Constitution and Bylaws to govern how it is run, and the AMPS judging system rewards individual effort using a point system to minimize subjectivity.
The purpose of AMPS is to foster a knowledge and appreciation of the history of armored vehicles, through examination of preserved examples located in both museums and private collections, in miniature through modeling. To this end, Competition is organized into five levels - junior, basic, intermediate, advanced, and master - and the judging system rewards the modeler for his individual effort, not in comparison to other modelers.
Join us - if you like to build armor models, we'd love to have you as a member

we will follow thise same rules and bylaws http://www.amps-armor.org/ampssite/bylaws.aspx

I am the founder. it was my idea and my full year of planning and discussing this with the heads and otrher members of AMPS in the states and elsewhere. I have been in touch with the founders of AMPS as well as the current managing board members and was given a green light to open this cvhapter here
DUES. at this time there are no dues. we are just forming. so if we are going to get this rolling we need first to find out who wants to join and other such info
officers will be picked at a later date. we will be run by experance and desire to improve the club and not by ego's that need to be fed... anyone looking to gain from this is in the wrong arenia.... what we need are people who care about the hobby and about having a good time. (I might be a little strong on this one but the negitive stuff I got from IPMS Israel is hard to erase!)

I felt that when I returned to Israel that the armor model builders were not getting a fair shake at the IPMS Israel club.
I also saw that everything about IPMS ISRAEL took an AIRCRAFT slant.. but worst of all was the negitive attitudes of the board members. the people in charge have seemed to come to dead ends idea wise and what ever is brought to them is recived with the "WE TRIED IT it doesn't work attitude... well I did try it and got a lot more faces into the show last sunday. but for that i got a knuckle dusting and a kick.. so what was is no longer as one of the founding members of IPMS ISRAEL (#4) I've pulled that plug and have put all my efforts into setting up the AMPS ISRAEL group.
