Here are some pictures of Tamiya's 1:48 scale Lancaster model built from the latest "B Mk.I/III" boxing of the kit. Eduard's BigEd set has been included, as well as scratchbuilt items to enhance the level of detail.

Wonderful work. Like everything about it. It's good to see a big bomber in 1/48. Again, great work, Wingman out.

thats an outstanding build jean-luc! i still have an unbuilt airfix lanc from my visit to the east kirkby air museum, where their lanc "just jane" makes taxiing runs. the wingtip was over my head as it went by! quite an amazing (and loud!) sound being that close to four running merlin engines

Hi Jean-Luc

Wonderful work as usual!

The masked panel shading is great. Did you use adhesive masks (precise but slow) or hold a paper mask against the model? The reason I ask is that I'm planning on using precisely the latter approach on my Flitzer with Tensocrom pigments any day now!

All the best

Rowan

Jean-Luc, that is stunning. I like the shot you threw in showing your wing masking.

Rowan, I have used Post-It paper to do the panel painting.

Nice job. I especially like the paint scheme and weathering. Most of the Lanc's I see are bright and lack of a better word perfict. This one holds a lot of realism (IMHO)
