BTW, it looks as if the exhausts are not designed to be adjustable. I wonder if any of the other kits will offer the option of displaying them open or closed? Just a thought. A bit more detail on the arse end of this bird would be nice.

Hello Hermon

Well, I did not add the Wolfpack thrust deflectors yet and also I forced the "edges" of the ducts against the upper and lower fuselage. Not sure this is correct, I just did it this way. But maybe i got your remark wrong ...

BTW here is a pic of the article I mentioned yesterday

Thank you Drabslab

then I do appologize for getting a bit slow lately.

While filling and sanding is not that a bad task for me, the rescribing really puts me off at the moment.

Also I desperately hope that Gordon from NeOmega holds his promise and I will get the replacement part for my "Super Ente" soon .. I am really running out of time for the Marseillaise campaign .. hey it is a jet too

Agai,n thank you for the encouragement, maybe I will get back to the bench tomorrow (have to do an update on my site today, which will need all my motivation)

all the best

I am in a situation right now where i spend (work related) far too much time in airplanes and hotel rooms.

This leaves almost no time for modelling. i alreay had to resign for the airedale navy campaign and will barely make the deadline for the Marseillaise campaign...

You see, same sh!t everywhere

Thanks for your comment, Justin!

I have not worked on my models in a fortnight. ... o.k. I sanded and filled a bit here and there but I did not tackle the rescriing job on this project. As I finally got my Super Etendard dash I will proceed on that project rather as it is intended for Marseillaise, which ends soon. Hope I will regain some drive soon ...

I think it is worth to see what Hasegawa has to offer and then compare the price tags. Somehow I find the idolmaster markings nice ... but then I have so many models in my stack that I really should focus to get some of those done ... Rowan knows what I mean...

Hi Justin

I do not remember .. bought them once in a hobby shop or hardware store (they are not really adjustable you press it together and the friction holds it tight .. most times)

Your build makes me wanna have one of the Academy Raptors. It's a pitty you do not open the armament bays but I understand your explanation from the first page. Have you chosen the markings already?

Very nice build so far, Steffen. It is an attractive and aggressive looking aircraft.

I am looking forward to see more when the build progresses.

Many thanks Michal and Jesper!!!

I need every motivation I can get .... I started another project to gain some drive for the rather difficult tasks ahead. Here is another pic of the port weapon bay (which needs most attention, but the other is not much better)

You see I had primed the bird and filled and sanded some areas.

it seems that you are that moment of the building process where the outlook seems completely hopeless

But once over this "point of no return" it will all start coming together

Nice to see this build and looking good ..sorry I caught it a bit late. BTW would you recommend this kit ...I had a Tiger from Academy that left a bit of a bad taste and wasn't sure on the quality of this kit. Cheers,

Many thanks for your comments, drabslab and Hermann!

I will focus on my Tamiya Thunderbolt for the next week and then see if I am in the mood to tackle the rescribing job.

Hermann, the model fits pretty good for such large plastic parts. Detail is good and it looks Raptor (I cannot comment on the correctness of the shape as I have no clue) Still it is no Tamiya kit and you will need a few basic modelling skills (filling and sanding) to build the kit (but honestly that is part of the fun).

The problem I have is because I wanted to close the bays . As the lower fuselage was pretty wobbly I glued in all bays to strengthen the "hull". The side weapon bay covers are approx 2 mm too small/narrow, not sure this is corrected on the production kit (this is a test shot).

Maybe it is wise to wait for the Hasegawa kit to appear. If it is much better you could rather take that one or if not you can choose the (surely) cheaper Academy kit...

all the best

I have this kit and I must say the fit around the air intake is awful. I've shelfed it for a little while now.. Not in the mood to wrestle with that.

Which kit? Hasegawas is not out yet!

or do you mean the Academy? .. as you see I did not stick to the instructions but rather built it around the lower part of the intake trunk which is molded together with the lower weapon bay. I had to wrestle a bit to get the proper box shape (see picture above in one of my other posts) but then it fit quite well with the other parts to form an intake ---- surely not seamless, but o.k. i built one after the other and used the backplate for testfitting. Some primer and white color did the rest. Then I attached the engine faces ...

Hi Neil

Yep, as posted several times already in different threads. Got it after about 2 weeks. It is next on my list, but I need a bit of motivation and thus started the T-bolt first. I hope to have that done in the comming week and can use the drive to proceed with the Super Ente

cheers

Steffen
