Czech Model have produced a nice 1:48 scale model of the Cessna UC-78/JRC-1/T-50 Bamboo Bomber. Here's the review of it.

Hi Jean-Luc

Nice review and, despite the wheels, I definitely want one!

I was a bit shocked when I checked Hannants for availablity, though - they're quoting more in £ than it is originally in US$! I hope that's a typo - if the import price really is £56.99 I think that will make a lot of people (including me) think twice...

All the best

Hi all,

Quoted Text

Ouch! That's indeed a high price. I hope it's a typo...

I have added two links in the review:
- One to the www.cessnat50.org website. Make sure to check the Manual & Info page! There are downloadable .pdf files of original documents. A goldmine if you want to build and detail the kit.
- The other link is courtesy of Dave (thanks a lot again!) and leads to the 24 episodes of "Sky King".

All the best

It seems to me the cross-section of the upper roof corner on the real aircraft is far squarer, with a MUCH flatter roof than on the model, and is a real problem here...

Just the cut-out for the bent shape of the upper door on the kit is abundantly clear about that...:

The nose is a bit on the long side as well... And look at the sharpness of the upper fuselage contour on the top of the open door here!

The upper corner looks slightly different here, but still nowhere near the kit:

We sure keep getting chucked our way some real approximations in 1/48th scale... Or is it a completely different fuselage version?

Gaston
