Very nice revie Jean-Luc

I like that you explain many of the differences of the versions!

Some notes: The MG FF was 20 mm (surely just a typo). I am not sure the 188 was used as a nightfighter. Your statement re the pitot is not fully correct. There are pix which show the mast outboard, so the transition was somewhere during the A-7 production. I will have to look through my refs if I can find pics of these machines .. but I am too lazy

A short explanation of the fuselages/ ETC thing: the Fw 190A-8 got an extra internal fuel tank. It could be filled with MW50 for performance enhancement or fuel. This resulted in a few adjustments. the tank for the starter had to be moved (among other things) which resulte in diferent new hatches/filling points and the large hatch on the underside was needed to install the tank. The center of gravity would have moved due to this tank thus ETC was moved 20cm forward to keep the flying characteristics ... not very scientific, but I hope you get the idea...

all the best

I really really REALLY want this boxing but I can't afford it right now. As to which ones to build I really would struggle, Bretschneider's A7 and probably the A5 of 10/NJG 3!

You just can't have too many nightfighter FW 190's

Nice review Jean-Luc as always.

Hi Jean-Luc

Very nice! I want one! But, I know - I have to finish a certain '190F before I'm allowed any more Butcher Birds!...

All the best

very nice review Jean-Luc..

anyone interested in Fw 190 Nachtjäger may find this link of interest over at the Luftwaffe Experten Message Board - (you may need to register to view). Includes contributions on wilde Sau 190s from Jean-Yves Lorant, discussion on the sub-type differences and some rare pics of this kit's decal options
