Good morning all you WW I aviation modelers. Thanks to penpen, I got enough information to list you on the Campaign Docket in the General Modeling Forum. You are very nearly ready to be declared an Official Campaign on Site.

To complete the forming up of this activity, I need to know if and what you intend to award participants who complete the Campaign. Since your Start Date is very close - I need to know quickly so that I can update the Campaign Docket and let Big Jim know that you're ready to have a Campaign Folder setup on the Campaign Page.

I'll follow this thread for the reply...

Okay - I like the Ribbon idea. There is time to plan and come up with one for your Campaign. Put a call out to the modelers out on the Forums - there are several guys who like to create Campaign Ribbons.

I will forward your info to Big Jim to setup your Campaign Folder - and you'll be off and running!

airwarrior - I got the "thumbs-up" from Big Jim this morning. Your Campaign Folder should appear tomorrow or the day after. WW I Aviation Campaign is a Go!

Count me in too!

I've bought too many WW1 kits and never built any of them! Actually having to finish one is a scary prospect, but that's what we're here for isn't it? (Hmmm... on the other hand...)

No, seriously, I love the idea!

All the best

I'm a tentative in right now. I just got the green light on a major project and don't know how much modeling time I'm gonna have for a little while. I have my kits here so I can work on them here and there as I get time. I should be able to complete at least one of them. At any rate they will all be OOB and prolly not have rigging due to time constraints.

I'm building a 1:32 Nieuport 17 as my main entry. If I have time I'll also do a small project I've wanted to do for years, 1:72 Fokker DR-1 and a 1:72 Sopwith Camel. Bonus points if you got the cultural reference implied there. The Fokker is obviously the plane of the Red Baron, and the Sopwith Camel is the plane that Snoopy flies in his Red Baron fantasies.

I might be able to do this one. I was starting the Luthwaffe build last winter, but I got sidetracked by an unexpected medical situation. Hopefully, this will work out better. I have a couple of Vac Forms, but I am sending an order into Squadron, or Roll Models this week. I may tack an Eduard, or Rodan kit onto it. Any suggestions for a buiilder friendly WW1 kit? I am looking at the HD-1, or the Albatros D.IIIa in 1/48 scale. I normally build 1/72, but I think I had better stick with the larger scale for this campaign. (Although the D.V in 1/72 sure caught my eye!) I may also be able to get an old DML kit.
