Contents:

Contained in the zip sealed transparent bag is a number of vinyl masks on one sheet:
-2 x sets of black coloured mask for the early and late windscreen.
-1x set of masks for the main wheels.
-1 x mask guide.

Before you start it's well worth going over to the Montex website to fully acquaint yourself on how to get the most from these masks. The tutorials are very helpful.

Montex supply two sets of masks for the two types of windscreen found in the Sword kit. There are seven separate masks for the early canopy and eight for the later version. There are masks for both sides of the main wheels. A pity there is no masks for the kits one piece tail wheel. This release is intended for the Sword Gladiator [72035] but I suspect it can be used for the Sword Sea Gladiator [72036] aslo as the two kits share common parts.
There are no instructions for the placement of the masks, but it's pretty obvious what goes where.

The vinyl mask material have a completely different feel and look to masks made from Kabuki tape . Before you apply the masks get a feel for them first by using the masks for the title of the subject. The backing paper overlaps the masks themselves slightly. Use a sharp knife in the corner of the sheet to separate the two layers and carefully peel away the backing with your fingers. The clean cuts for the different parts of the masks means they separate very easily. Follow the on-line and kit instructions to help with placement and using multi part masks.

Conclusions:

The Gladiator canopy has a fair few glazing panels so this set will ease your workload somewhat. Well worth acquiring if you have the Sword kits. Take a look at the finished models on the Montex website. Very nicely done Montex.
