Waste Fluid Containment Tank, EMD Square Version
One of Hi-Tech Details’ many diesel details is this two-piece injection-molded square waste fluid containment tank for EMD locomotives. It must be a significant component of diesel-electric locos though I hazard to guess just what waste fluid is trapped in this tank. Oil, leaky batteries, or is it for the crew’s “honey pot”?
It is molded in black styrene and packaged in a plastic bag stapled to the black and vivid fuchsia Hi-Tech Details card backing.
No ejector marks, sink marks or flash mar the parts, but it has a noticeable seam line. It also has nice rivet detail.
No installation guidance is included. Consult your prototype photos.
This is a simple set of simple parts to allow you to detail your EMD diesels. They are nicely molded and I think you will be happy with them.
Model railroading is fun and for many of us part of that fun modeling a particular prototype, even during a specific time. Railroads and equipment manufacturers have given us a bewildering number of modifications to model. These are often unique items and not practical for model makers to mass produce or install at the factory. Riding to the rescue are model makers like Hi-Tech Details
