Contents

First thing to mention is the odd title printed on the packaging: “Starboard Intake and exhaust nozzle”. Ignore this inside the packaging is a full set of intakes and nozzles.

Inside the re sealable plastic bag is:

-2 x engine air Intakes.
-2 x hot air exhaust.
-1 x cold air exhaust.
-3 x smaller air intakes.

Engine air intakes: the distinctive look of the Harrier air intakes are nicely captured and are direct replacements for the kit parts. The four upper auxiliary intakes are open and the three lower doors are closed, the recessed outline of the doors is nicely defined. The kit parts are a little fiddly and these one piece items will certainly simplify construction.

Exhaust nozzles: these beautifully cast one piece items offer much better representations to the two piece nozzles of the Airfix kit. It will be difficult to hide the seams of the Airfix kit parts so the Pavla one piece nozzles will speed up the build. The vanes in the nozzles are very thin and look superb.

Smaller air intakes: again these are direct replacements for the kit parts. The lips of the air intakes are well defined and the slight depression gives a good impression of depth. They will be a bit fiddly to remove from the block that all three are cast onto, but it will be well worth the effort.

All the parts are attached to casting blocks that needs removing. Don’t forget to wash these items to remove any residue release agent before painting.

Conclusion

Pavla Models have done it again producing a superb resin upgrade for a very reasonable cost. The release is well worth the money just for the nozzles alone. Very nicely done Pavla Models.
