Is there ever a chance to buy a metal figure that is high quality yet inexpensive?
Well it seems so sometimes.
In this review well check out "The Old Partisan (guerilla)” from the Russian Company SK –Tankmaster in 1/35 scale.
Dressed in winter gear and holding a rifle, the figure looks like he’s ready for action against enemy troops occupying his country.
The figure comes in seven pieces; six which are white metal and a small square resin base. The figure was sent to me in a small plastic bag with no pictures of the painted figure
There is one piece for the body -- including the torso, legs and feet. The head , arms, and the rifle and a small bag round out the parts of the figure.
The casting is relatively good with little cleaning needed, but a good treatment with fine wire wool will help remove any small surface irregularities.
I test fitted the heads and hands and found they attached easily with little effort.
This guy looks like a guerrilla with a thick beard and tough lines that will require careful painting to show off the detail. He is wearing thick winter clothing with a fur collar. The possible variations in the colors you choose to paint this figure is almost limitless and should make that task easier for builders.
The rifle has acceptable detail and the small resin base is nothing special in detail but does give the right angle for the figure to stand properly. The builder may want to incorporate this small base with the surrounding groundwork in a diorama or as part of a bigger base on a stand alone figure.
The kneeling pose of the guerilla is different and will be useful in a diorama or ambush vignette.
Overall I think this is a decent figure for $9 (USD).
This figure was kindly handed for review from Vyacheslav Ryzhenkov of Tankmaster. For more info on the figure , purchasing and pictures of the finished product check: www.thetankmaster.com

I loved to build dioramas and military vehicles till the Vietnam Era. I don't like modern stuff so much. 4 years ago I had a crush on figure painti...
