introduction
Another great subject from
BRAVO-6 realized by the untiring research efforts of
Vladimir Demchenko. Inspired by a
reference photo, Vladi sculpted another great figure. I think adding a Vietnamese Navy SEAL figure to Vietnam War vignettes or dioramas will make most of the modelers happy. The increasing quality of sculpts and casting is also have to be mentioned.
The new kit
B6-35034includes two figures – an U.S. Navy SEAL and a LDNN - Lien Doc Nguoi Nhia member checking the environment as the other is communicating .
box
The figures come well packed in standard BRAVO-6 light brown 50x80x25 mm cardboard box . The front part of the box shows a photo of the assembled and painted figures which can serve as a painting guide.
The parts are represented with the casting blocks and parts of each figure are seperately inserted in a small plastic zip-lock bag to avoid unexpected damages during transfer. Small parts are secured in different plastic bags.
parts
The figures are sculpted by Russian master sculptor and owner of BRAVO-6
Vladimir Demchenko and comes in medium grey resin parts. The resin quality is very good and details are crisp. No air bubbles, excess resin or any casting mistakes on the figure. The junctions between figure parts and casting blocks were well placed and the parts can be easily removed from the blocks with no damage. The figures are again almost ready to prime figures with no or very small need for a cleanwork.
U.S.NAVY SEAL
The figure comes in 3 body parts and 14 pieces of personal gear.
The main part is Body with head and legs. The figure is posed talking on the radio when walking. Some parts of personal gear is cast on the body. Facial details ,hair on the nape and moustache are well defined. Top of the head is cut for the easy assembly of the hat. He wears tropical combat uniform with 4 flip-top cover pockets jacket ,trousers with 2 flip-top cover cargo pockets on the sides and black leather- olive drab canvas jungle boots on his feet. A scarf is sculpted on his neck. Over his uniform, he has a Horse Collar UDT Life Preserver Vest . He carries a canvas radio harness and a M-18 Claymore mine bag is attached on the backside. He carries three ammo pouch for his M-16 ,two on the left side and one on the right attached to his utility belt. Cloth folds of the jacket and trousers ,details of the life vest are well defined.
Other parts are;
Right arm : Posed to carry the handset of the AN/PRC-25. Hand set, buttoned sleeves and cloth folds are well defined.
Left arm : Posed to carry the rifle on the left side of his body . Hand is not included on this part. It shows nice cloth folds.
M16A1 rifle. The left hand is cast on this part. The rifle is sculpted in nice details. I recommend you to be careful when removing the part from casting block as the long barrel is fragile.
AN/PRC-25 Radio; The securing straps and the details on the top of the radio are very well defined.

The figure wears a different style hatlooking like a wider and higher type of boonie hat. It seems Vladimir caught another good piece from the Vietnam documentaries he watched.
LDNN - Lien Doc Nguoi Nhia (Vietnamese Navy SEAL)
The figure comes in 3 body parts and 9 pieces of personal gear.
The main part is Body with head and legs. The figure is posed checking around when walking. Facial details for an Asian figure, hair and boonie hat are well defined. He wears Reversible blue-yellow UDT-Underwater Demolition team T-shirt and Trousers of South Vietnam Marine Corps Uniform in Tiger stripe camouflage. As for the footgear;he has CIDG-Civilian Irregular Defense Group black boots. Over his T-shirt; he has H-shaped suspenders with a first aid kit pouch attached on the backside. . He has two ammo pouchs on the left side and one on the right attached to his utility belt.

XM-177 ; also known as CAR-15 was a short barreled version of M-16. Internal operations were the same. The rifle is recognized by the collapsible stock and extended flash hider. The rifle was seen in theater with both the twenty and thirty round magazine. Not a common battlefield rifle for the troops, this weapon was seen with members of the K9 units and Special Forces troops such as Navy Seals and Green Berets, though it did make it's way into the hands of some standard troops. The left hand is cast on the forestock of rifle and details are well defined.

conclusion
Another very nice pair sculpted in great details and cast in high quality. So many personal gear add good realism to the kit. It can be displayed as a vignette or can be combined with 35023 US Navy SEAL & POW for a bigger scene.
Very Highly Recommended
