A new addition to Ray Horwell's Fantasy Printshop decals range is a beautifully produced set of modern Luftwaffe insignia in 1:32.

The postwar Luftwaffe was formed in 1956 as the aerial branch of the new Bundeswehr, some ten years after the Nazi-era Luftwaffe was disbanded. To distinguish it from the former Luftwaffe's straight-sided Balkan Kreuz, the insignia of new air force was styled after the traditional cross pattée, dating back to the middle ages which was used during most of WWI.

Fantasy Printshop's sheet is beautifully printed, with the thin, glossy items showing no excess carrier film at all. The registration is pin-sharp, and the sheet contains insignia in the following sizes:

1ft - 12 items
1.3 ft - 12 items
2ft - 12 items
2.3ft - 12 items
3ft - 13 items
3.3ft - 6 items
4ft - 6 items
4.3ft - 6 items

The spare 3 ft item could always be handy as a source for extra decal material if you damage anything or to patch over any awkward vents etc. on a model.

No instructions are provided, but none are really required, as I have found Fantasy Printshop decals are trouble-free to apply and snuggle down excellently over details.

Fantasy Printshop has also released the decals in two other scales. Obviously, the number of decals on each sheet increases in the smaller scales.:

1:72 - Item #FP1100 - Price: £7.95
1:48 - Item #FP1120 - Price: £7.95

Fantasy Printshop's sheet will be ideal for anyone modelling a NATO-era Luftwaffe subject.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
Highs: Top quality printing.
Lows: None noted.
Verdict: This is a very useful sheet for anyone building 1:32 models of NATO-era German aircraft.

I mostly concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, Golden Age aviation and the early Jet Age - and have even been known to build the occas...
