Introduction
J.A.S.D.F. T-2 Interior Part 1/Part 2 from Platz is item M72-34. This 1/72 photo-etch super-detail set compliments their 1/72 T-2 models.

Two frets are included and many parts are pre-painted.

Pre-Flight
Packed in a small plastic bag with a stiff card backing, JASDF T-2 set consists of two thin metal photo-etched (P/E) fret and instructions. The P/E is etched by Eduard. The metal is not brass or copper. Aluminum or a steel?

I counted 51 parts on fret 1 and 65 on fret 2.

Set 1 is numbered to 30 and yet due to multiple pieces of a component, I counted 51 P/E pieces; I counted an additional 65 pieces on fret 2.

Etching is crisp and sharp. Parts are held to the fret with small attachments.

Set 1 pieces enhance the following components:
4-piece student and instructor instrument panels
    Instrument consoles
    Ejection seat parts
    Restraint belts are harnesses
    Cockpit sides parts

Set 2 pieces further enhance the following components:
Blade antennas (ILS, IFF, etc.) and bases
    Formation and navigation lights
    Canopy frames
    Landing gear details

Detail
Surface detail is high. Platz replicated the dials of the flight and engine instruments, as well as the switches, knobs, dials, and buttons and lights of the consoles.

Structural members for the canopies are provided. Some have mirrors attached.

Platz pre-painted the instrument panels and several of the other components. However, many pieces are bare metal.

Instructions
A simple folded sheet presents 10 steps for applying these pieces. The artwork is clear.

Illustrated with blue or black-and-white line art, Platz also filled in some parts with colors. Color coding of items is used. It appears that red shading indicates plastic detail to be removed prior to mounting the P/E parts.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of text is printed in Japanese. Happily, the part numbers are Arabic. A set of six (6) symbols help guide the modeler for optional feature, cutting, trimming, etc.

Conclusion
If you have a 1/72 Mitsubishi T-2, then this Platz detail set T-2 Interior should be very attractive to you. It features two (2) frets of parts which boast sharp etching and pre-painted components.

My minor complaint is that the vast majority of text is printed in Japanese. However, that matters little to me as the instruction sheets are so good.

This set should greatly improve any T-2 model and I recommend it.
