Vampire main and nose wheels

These wheels released by CMK in their ‘Quick & Easy’ range look well cast with no distortion and no bubbles. The detail around the hub and the block tread of the tyres on the main wheels looks sharp and consistent. The nose wheel has the channelled tread that seemed typical of de Havilland aircraft. The indent for the valves is a nice touch. I have been a bit unfair blowing up the image so much, but they still look good. The attachment point to the casting blocks is pretty thin and easy enough to cut. The attachment point is on right on the tread pattern so a little cleaning up will be necessary. The tyres are weighted and CMK has designed the sag in the tyres around the attachment points.
The hard to miss instructions printed on bright green paper simply illustrate that these resin wheels are direct replacements for the kit wheels.

Conclusions

This is a good looking product from CMK particularly if you are searching for a more authentic look for the Special Hobby 1/72 scale de Havilland Vampire.
