Depending on the subject, the markings are provided in black, white, or one of three tones of grey. It does seem wonderfully ironic that the F-117 "Stealth Fighter" is the only aircraft sporting glaring white insignia... who says the military don't have a sense of humour?
The decals are beautifully printed by Fantasy Printshop to their customary superb standard, with pin sharp definition and minimal excess carrier film on the thin, glossy items. The "Danger" text for the ejection seat triangles is perfectly legible even on the 1:72 sheet.
It's important to stress that these are generic sheets of markings, so you will need to supply your own references for any specific subject, sourcing the unit and individual markings yourself. Similarly, the sheets don't come with placement instructions for the decals - which is totally understandable, because providing diagrams for over a dozen aircraft types would inevitably raise the price of the sheets considerably. Plus, of course, checking whether the insignia and their positions are standard or unit-modified is part and parcel of the research you'll do for the colour scheme of any given airframe.
