After seeing these leaves in a dio here I emailed Gino Poppe at Figure Royale expressing interest in purchasing them. He very kindly sent me samples of all three, together with some other items reviewed in the armour section.

The leaves are available in three different types:

  • 105# Brown - dead leaves

  • 106# Green - for trees

  • 108# Autumn -mixed colours

They are packaged in a 7x5cm ziploc bag stapled to a card header/backing.

Each one also comes with a 4.5x4.5x1cm block of plastic 'branches'. Very simple instructions are attached to the back of each card on making trees or bushes - (however there are much better how-to's in the forum in this regard). Each bag contains enough for 1-2 dios or vignettes (depending on size)

The leaves themselves are complete birch seeds which can be used whole or crushed to make litter and easily glued to a base or branches/bushes etc. Of particular note are the Autumn leaves which are vibrant in colour and quite realistic.

In Conclusion

A great product which gives some variation to the normal 'dead' leaves, and will certainly add a high level of realism to groundwork and forest litter. For those without easy access to birch trees it is a viable option.
According to Gino future products from Joefix include bamboo.

Note: The images are from Gino Poppe's Russian sniper vignette Slippery When Wet. These leaves were used in this vignette.
Joefix Studios is a small operation whose products are sold by Figure Royale in Belgium. This review is of a series of leaves to add to a vignette or diorama.
