is a modular firearm system with a single receiver that could be used to assemble any of a variety of weapons, from short carbine to a fixed machine gun. Using box or drum magazines, carrying 100 to 150 linked rounds respectively, it rattled along at a 700 rpm cyclic rate, providing valuable fire support to the small teams plying the swamps and jungles of the Mekong Delta when engaging enemy forces at close range. Excellent at fighting through ambushes or breaking contact, the gun was an immediate hit and desirable alternative to the other U.S. weapon used for such roles, the M-60.
One of the latest releases of BRAVO-6 ; B6-35084 Stoner
depicts this legendary weapon with two different variants.
packing & casting
Kit comes well packed in standard light brown cardboard box with an illustration of the machine gun versions in front cover. Back cover shows a drawing on how to assembly photoetched parts. Inside the box, resin parts are represented with easy to remove casting blocks and inserted into a zip-lock bag. PE parts are secured in another bag.
Casting quality is very good and details of the guns are well defined , clean and crisp. No casting mistakes, air bubbles or excess resin on review samples. There will be a small need to clean slightly visible seamlines and especially the drum magazines.
Kit includes four sprues of two types (A and B) and a photoetched parts sprue.
SPRUE-A carries a Stoner Mk23 with long barrel and ammo feed on left side. Details of the modular system are all well defined. 150 round Drum magazine and Carrying handle cast on a supporting leg of sprue (marked with a red cross on the photo) are given as seperate parts.
SPRUE-B carries a Stoner 63A with short barrel and ammo feed on right side. Details are also well defined on this model. Two types of box magazines are given as seperate parts.
PE SPRUE has five ammo belts, a Folding stock and two handle parts.
Another useful weapon from BRAVO-6 to equip your SEALs with Stoner Mk23, 63A or folding stock versions with different magazine options.
