History The Sniper is a single, lightweight targeting pod with much lower aerodynamic drag than the systems it replaces.
Its image processing allows aircrews to detect, identify and engage tactical-size targets outside the range of most enemy air defenses, giving it a crucial role in the destruction of enemy air defense missions. It also supports urban engagements beyond jet noise range for counter-insurgency operations. It offers a 3-5X increase in detection range over the older LANTIRN system, and is currently flying on U.S. Air Force and multinational F-16, F-15, B-1B, CF-18, Harrier, A-10, B-52 and Tornado aircraft.

In the box Packed in a sealed blister pack, the five light grey resin parts and the small P.E sheet are well packaged and secure, with the resin parts cushioned in-between the blister pack and a sponge backing pad.
The parts are all cast very well with no signs of bubbles or other indiscrepancies, but they are all connected to separate casting blocks. Careful sawing and cutting of the parts will be needed to remove the blocks, but having used Eduard Brassin parts before this isn't too difficult.
The main Pod is made up of four resin parts and one photo etch part.
Detail in the resin parts is very nice with recessed panels, which are hardly noticeable on the pretty small Pod.
The main body is made up of two parts, the body and a small node which sits on the top rear of the Pod.
The nose section is made up of two parts, one of which is clear for the targeting window.
The one P.E part is destined for the back of the pod.
The last resin part is the pylon, which also sports some nice detail.
Instructions and decals The instructions are easy to follow with the build taking place over four steps.
Bold letters for the resin and P.E parts are clearly shown.
Colours are given along the way for the smaller parts with the main body having a colour insert for the painting and decal guide.
As per usual for Eduard, Gunze Aqueous and Mr Color paints are keyed to the colours to be used.
The decals are printed by Eduard and are of good quality. The decals cover the stencils data found on the pod.
