Natur Plus Meadow Mat Field 6 mm is part of the NOCH PROFI series. It is a flexible mat covered with irregular electrostatic grass fibers.

As NOCH explains their Natur Plus Meadows and Fields;
The products of this series feature a "plus" concerning life-like appearance. Natur Meadows and Fields are super realistic compositions made of different, high-quality, electrostatic grass fibres. A specially developed production process allows the fibers to be applied one after the other. This technology and the mixture of fibers in different lengths create an amazing natural appearance.

As the fine base for the grass fibers, we use specially developed transparent glue which stays permanently flexible. Thanks to this special production process, the Natur Meadows and fields can be easily integrated in any surface structures like hills, embankments, hollows etc.

Each package contains 10 additional grass tufts in harmonious colours for the realistic decoration or the creation of transitions.

The application of Natur products is very simple. You can integrate these meadows and fields completely in your landscape or cut them in small pieces before modelling.

Meadow Field Mat, 12 mm
Natur Wiesenmatte Feld, 12 mm is 440 mm (17.32 inches) long and 290 mm (11.42 inches) wide. In HO that is a parcel about 125 X 85 feet.

The grass is 12 mm high. That is about 3-foot 6-inches high in HO, and about 16 inches high in 1/35. There is a mix of colors and lengths to add realism. To demonstrate how this 12 mm grass looks in your favorite scale, I show this mat with three popular scales, and vantage points from above and from more or less eye level:
    HO locomotive
    1/87 mules
    1/35 Tiger I
    1/35 Trackworker
O Scale (1/48) front end loader
    1/48 T-34

I try to show you how much space the mat affords you with well-known vehicles.
NOCH packs the mat in a bag. The creases created while rolled up in the bag are noticeable. However, stretching the mat will get rid of them. So does draping the mat over something so that gravity can do its magic, although takes time. If you stretch it, be careful because the mat backing is made to tear easily.

That base is flexible. The hill in the photo was made by simply draping the mat across a block. It can also be draped across forms to make low spots, like sunken roads and ditches, as well as higher features. NOCH made the mat to tear easily so that modelers can sculpt it along irregular contours, and even rip off pieces for, say, grass in the middle of dirt roads.

Some grass falls off the mat in the bag so be ready for a bit of loose grass when you unpack it. Enough was left in the bag to make a neat small pile. This loose grass can be scattered about the ground or on a vehicle or road, mixed with mud, or whatever you would use cut grass for.

While not necessarily a drawback, the grass is pretty stout when it comes to placing other models upon it. The locomotive pushed the track down into the meadow mat nicely because it has a big heavy weight in it. The lighter models may need to be pinned down into the grass.

Regardless, this mat is a very easy and effective way to create a good sized grassy area for your scenery.

Natur Meadow Mats look very good and are very useful. They are easy to use. The 12 mm grass is good for a multitude of scales.

The only drawbacks are removing the creases and, perhaps, the shedding.

Natur Meadow Mat Field, 12 mm will give me a lot of good use and I recommend it.

Please remember to tell NOCH and retailers that you saw this here - on RailRoad Modeling.
Highs: Very good and are very useful, and easy to use.
Lows: Creases and, perhaps, shedding.
Verdict: Natur+ Meadow Mat Field, 12 mm is a very easy and effective way to create a good sized grassy area for your scenery.
