Introducing...Girl with a Ribbon 75mm (Monument) is a resin figure by Armor35 of Russia. Armor35 makes several categories of resin and multi-media models of Russian and German civilians, soldiers and railroad models c.1930s-40s. They are scaled to 1/35 yet applicable for No. 1 Scale (1/32) and even G Gauge.
Girl with a Ribbon 75mm (Monument)Girl with a Ribbon 75mm (Monument) is item ARM35204 in Armor35's catalogue. It is a model of a cultural statue epitomizing the Soviet ideal of artistic femininity and fitness, typical of the Stalin era. Depending on one's theory of scaling figures, in No. 1 scale she would be eight feet tall. In 75mm scale - 1/24 - she would be just under a sturdy six feet tall. Considering that women of the era were about five to five-four, this figure scales nicely to 1/20-1/24, G gauge.
She is beautifully molded with no casting flaws like air pocks, flash, nor seam lines. The surface is smooth. This smooth texture, devoid of casting or chisel marks common to many monuments of granite or bronze, etc., allows one to use the figure as a person in lieu of a statue.
Detail is crisp. The kit consists of five gray resin pieces including the monument base. She is represented as wearing a modest one-piece swim suite and tying a ribbon in her hair.
Armor35 cleverly cast the parts so that the neck and arms fit along seam lines of her garment.
DetailRemarkable detail includes elaborately braided hair and an exceptionally detailed face. Her feet and hands are beautifully proportioned and detailed.
Assembly and Painting InstructionsNone. Refer to the box art or use your imagination.
AssemblyThe pieces fit tightly to the body and the clever junctions show no gaps. The gaps that you might see are because I tacked the arms and head to the body truck with white glue, not model glue.
ConclusionModelers have a lot of potential with this figure. Whether one wishes to use it in a 1/35 - 1/32 diorama, or as a person in a larger scale, model railroaders and modelers of other genre have an excellent model of a woman with Girl with a Ribbon 75mm (Monument).
There is nothing I will complain about this figure other than it appears that each elbow has a bit of a burr from where Armor35 de-sprued the parts. Easily removed so no problem.
This excellent figure has great potential as a statue or as a person. Highly recommended.
