History
Roland's ultimate single seat fighter was the Roland D.VI from early 1918 with fuselage constructed in the "Klinkerrumpf" method. Most of the Roland D.VIa types were powered by the in-line Mercedes D.IIIaü 180hp engine. The later Rol.D.VIb with the Benz Bz.IIIa 185ps (hp) motor was said to be as good as the Fok.D.VIIF in performance.

HGW 1/32 LFG Roland D.VIb Seatbelts, set #132543.
This set is designed for Wingnut Wings kit.
It has 9 micro-textile straps and 9 photo-etch pieces.
it is made using micro-textile sheeting, metallic buckles.
The straps are special micro-textile strips which is printed and behaves like a tight weave fabric.
Set contains seat belts for 1 single-seater aircraft.
Micro-textile parts are can be coated in super glue after placement - it leads to darkening shades and these are also waterproofed and easy to assemble. But you must be deliberate with their construction.
The cardboard insert in the set makes an excellent cutting board.
Using the belts
1. Take the precut textile part out of the sheet.
2. Remove supporting paper.
3. Crumple the belt into a little ball and knead it between the fingers.
4. Thread the belts through the buckles – use superglue.
5. Put the belts into the seat.
6. Spray by the glossy varnish.
8. Spray by matt varnish.
7. Saturate the belts with very wash of colour (mix of black and brown) – it will highlight the texture and shadows.

conclusion
I have used the WWI aviation subjects of the HGW Micro-textile belts in some of my builds and can report very pleasing results.

I want to thank Martin Bobek for the review sample. I will put it with my WNW Roland D.VIb kit #32017. A future build!

Hundreds of 1/72 scale Revell and Airfix kits later my eyes started to change and I wanted to do more detail. With the advent of DML / Dragon and Eduard I sold off my ...
