Bombshell Decals 1/48 Jugs and Marauders.

As you might have seen posted earlier, Mike from Bombshell Decals has released three new decal sets. Two 1/48 scale P-47 plus an upscaled 1/48 version of the B-26 Marauders he did last year.

Yes, Lots of info on two of the planes available. I have had a better look at the sheets and they are excellent, I highly recommend them to any P-47 fan. To top it all off, Michael from Bombshell is a great guy! Mark

I did the research and the pdfs.I was not originally going to do one for Belle. However, there were few photos available and the no evidence on how the Squadron codes were applied with respect to the fuselage invasion stripes. You could not fit everything on the instruction page. That is why I added 2 different a/c to show possible options. I looked at a lot of photos in books that I have as well as on littlefriends website. I looked through the color photos on ww2color.com showing the a/c from 63rd during the same time period. I could not definitively find "Belle" in the formation. BTW I am updating the captions on that website. The pdf for the other subject, Luther Richmond's "Sweetie" is much more detailed. I made the photos as large as what would fit to make it easier to view. I also included this website in the references on Sweetie. -Rex I do not work for Bombshell decals. I responded to a request on Hyperscale. I am hoping they produce the subject I suggested. I already have the research pdf done. This time with 30 photos.

Nice decals and some interesting subjects covered here. Will there be a review sample forthcoming? A couple of things stand out on the Belle Of Belmont pdf. The undercarriage legs look unpainted to me. Its good to see the two options for the invasion bands/fusalage code area, nice touch. The closeness of serial numbers for this D22 and Cameron Harts D-22 wouldn't have any relevence on the style of invasion bands markings as these aircraft were delivered in NMF and painted at Boxted. Armand Laflam hailed from Belmont New Hampshire, and not Belmont California as is often stated. The pdf file and the main link on the website list the aircraft as being from the 56th Fighter Squadron, 63rd Fighter Group rather than 63rd FS , 56thFG. Looking forward to seeing more from Bombshell! Nige
