CMR have released details of the forthcoming release of their Lancaster B Mk II powered by Bristol Hercules engines. There will be a choice of three different conversion sets issued by CMR depending which kit you have:

  • CMR-164 designed for the Airfix Lancaster B I/III.

  • CMR-164A designed for the Revell Lancaster B I/III.

  • CMR-164B designed for the Hasegawa Lancaster B I/III.


Items included in these sets:

  • Main wings – Including Bristol Hercules engine nacelles, wheel bay interior, separate flaps and ailerons.

  • Enlarged bomb bay doors.

  • Two types of main and tail wheel.

  • Main undercarriage legs and wheel bay doors.

  • Long or short bomb aimers glazed nose.

  • Optional ventral gun turret.

  • Hedgehog exhausts.

  • Three bladed propellers and spinners.


    • Parts included are resin, photo etched, paint masks and decals.
    Assembly and paint instructions are included.

This is good news. I have the now OOP conversion set for the Airfix kit from Paragon. I intended using on the Hasegawa kit so I could build the plane my great uncle flew in until he passed away during the war. Now that i can get the conversion for the Hasegawa kit this project should get off the ground soon
