This winter is turning out to be the season for BIG models, but I doubt if they'll come much larger than this! Is Airfix's new 1:24 Mossie to small to interest you? Then how about a colossal 1:72 Hughes H-4 Hercules - the famous "Spruce Goose"?
As you can see from these pics from Modelimex, A-Model's new short-run kit really is a goliath of a model, with a wingspan around 1.35m.

Construction is a mix of fibre-glass mouldings for the main airframe components and injected styrene for the details.

Of course, a limited edition kit like this comes with a price to match its size: 299.00 €. But if you want something really unique - and have the space to build and display it - A-Model's Spruce Goose could be an incredible project.

Contact Modelimex - specialists in Eastern European short run kits - for full details of availability and shipping terms.

Hi Tim Well, the tailplane would, no problem. Can you imagine a 1:48 version? - that'd have a wingspan of over 6.5 ft! It'd be great as a museum exhibit, but I don't know anybody who could display it at home. I think it might be too much even for one of Jean-Luc's mega-dioramas! A fantastic thought though! All the best Rowan

Being un-Metric, I assume A-4 paper is nearly 11" x 8 1/2".

Hi Mark Near enough. According to Photoshop it's 8.268 x 11.693 inches (21 x 29.7 cm). All the best Rowan
