The Grumman hellcat is Eduard's latest Royal Class kit. This time the set will contain two full kits for the F6F-3 and F6F-5, plus resin parts for F6F-3N and F6F-5N night fighters, along with decals for two night fighter schemes. The kit will also contain two resin engines, new resin wheels, and resin machine guns. The PE parts comprise the contents of the existing Big Ed sets. The special bonus for this kit is a 1:1 scale replica of the main engine placard.
Also due next month is probably the most ambitious Weekend Edition yet - the DH2. Coping with all that strut-work should certainly make for a busy weekend!...

Among the PE releases, there are sets for Hasegawa's and Trumpeter's big Warhawk and Thunderbolt, updates for Italeri's Chinook, plus detail sets for Trumpeter's quarterscale Sea Fury - a kit that cries out for some extra help.

Oh-Boy the weekend edition of the Airco DH-2 . It's about time they came out with this kit again , making alot of happy modellers who missed it on the frist release . I do have kit's 8093 and 8094 and one in 1/72 so I will have to add this one as well just for good measure . Would be nice if they came up with a PE set for this kit as well like they did for the Fokker D.VIIF weekend edition . Thanks for the news Rowan .

The new royal class is really a treat. I think, I will get me one of those. However, I am disappointed that the marking options do not include the shark mouth camouflage/decal scheme. Thanks for the update, Rowan

I have the Airco DH-2 in a Profipack version (1/72), and it is lovely.

Yes Rob , it is a very love kit indeed . I real enjoy Eduards 1/72 kits . They are the best ones out there and you really don't need to add anything to them .
SEP 22, 2008 - 04:29 AM
Agreed! I love the Profipack versions. Have you ever seen the Flashback 1/72 Voisin 3? I think (don't quote me) that it is a re-boxing of an early Eduard offering... stunning model! I have not looked into the accuracy of it as yet, but it is one of the nicest, complete kits I have seen. Rob
