Key Publishing has announced the shock news that the current issue of Air Enthusiast is to be the last.
Since its inception in the early 1970s, this UK magazine has held a unique position among aviation journals. Put simply, Air Enthusiast covered a wider range of often quite esoteric topics, in greater depth, than the other magazines available on the UK domestic market.

But all that is to end; by its specialist nature, Air Enthusisat attracted a dedicated, but sadly too small share of the market and its publishers have been forced into the unhappy decision to cease publication.

The title Air Enthusiast will be incorporated into the masthead of sister-magazine Air International - but this has previously catered to a very different readership, so quite how much of the content and style of Air Enthusiast will survive remains to be seen.

....I have to admit that I gave up purchasing Air Enthusiast a long long time ago - it was never the same after Green & Swanborough. I only occasionally buy Flypast come to that - too many 'news pages' that are long out of date by the time publication comes around & the content is/was far too parochial in my opinion - look at this issue - Beavers and Swordfishes.... .....I find that the Americans, the French and even the Germans do aviation history mags much better than we do...

Hi Neil I agree - but, unfortunately, so few of them are widely available in the UK. As we lamented in an earlier thread, the UK aviation magazine scene is pretty dismal - and things have just gone from bad to worse with the loss of AE. All the best Rowan
