Accurate Miniatures has been quiet for a few weeks but they've posted quite a hefty update on their site today. Their update includes a release schedule as well as research info on their upcoming SB2U Vindicator.

First things first, let's get the release schedule out. Here's what Accurate Miniatures is saying:

  • Mid-October 2003 will see the re-release of the Il2-m3 and RAF Mk. 1A. These are re-issues in original packaging but new decals will be provided as well as new box art. Their P-51A will also be repackaged and released with decals depicting the plane of Major Russ Berg's F6-B "Little Sir Echo II." (top image)

  • January '04 will bring the B-25C/D with markings of the 345th Bomb Group
strafer, the 498th Bomb Squadron's "Red Wrath." (middle image)

  • The SB2U Vindicator (bottom image) is next on the list with a release date sometime between late fourth quarter 2003 to late first quarter 2004. The -1, -2 and -3 versions of the plane will be released but they are unsure as to which version will hit the shelves first. The bulk of their research thus far, though, has centered on the -3 of VMSB-241 at the Battle of Midway. Some of their research material compiled to date can be viewed here.

One another note, Accurate Miniatures has commissioned Rich Faulkner of Atlanta, Georgia to generate art for their box tops.

Lots of great info in this update, including what a snickerdoodle is (a cookie).

Thomas, I feel for you man. Those Pauley Shore movies must have been horrific.

As always, information on the products above and many others can be found at Accurate Miniatures.
