HARVARD Mk.IIA
SUPER DECALS SHEET

Harvard is the name assigned to the North American T-6 Texan aircraft utilised by the Air Force in the British Commonwealth. It was also produced under license in Canada. The Harvard was a low-wing single engine advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots and make them ready for combat. Thanks to its Pratt & Whitney R-1340 Wasp 600 hp radial engine, it was able to reach the speed of 335 km / h. The project was developed in the mid-'30s and it became one of the most popular trainer aircraft in aviation history by contributing to the training of a large number of military pilots. Outside of the United States, the British RAF was the most prominent user. However, by the end of World War II, the Harvard had an impressive spread and was used by the air forces of several Countries including Canada, Italy, Belgium and Netherlands . In some conflicts it was also used for air strike and close support operations.

MB 339A
30th ANNIVERSARY FALKLANDS WAR 1982_2012 COLLECTION

SUPER DECALS SHEET FOR 4 VERSIONS

The Aermacchi MB-339 was developed as a direct evolution of MB-326. The MB-339 project was in fact based on the main aerodynamic characteristics of its predecessor, enhancing the role of advanced military trainer through the redesign of the forward fuselage to raise the instruction’s seat and to increase visibility. Thanks to its maneuverability, the good operational flexibility, and the possibility to load a wide range of weapons in its hard points under the wings, the MB 339 has also been developed to perform light attack and close support duties. The Italian Air Force is the main user of the MB-339 as advance trainer plane. Furhter more the MB-339 has been used by Argentine Naval Aviation, as light attack fighter, during the Falkland / Malvinas Was in 1982.

KC-135A STRATOTANKER
SUPER DECALS SHEET

The Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker is the most famous military aerial refueling aircraft of the aviation history. Developed by Boeing on the four-engine 707 airframe, at the mid of the '50s, its initial task was to refuel strategic bombers during the Cold War. However, thanks to its flexibility, it was used in all the major conflicts, such as Vietnam and the Middle East, to supply any type of U.S. Air Force fighters and bombers. Over time the KC-135 has been improved in engines and avionics on board to be in line with the new operational needs. It’s equipped with a flying boom located under the tail section. Additional refueling hose drogue pods can be mounted under the wings. The boom operator is located in the rear of the plane in order to have the best view and the maximum visibility of the refueling procedure

I've been veering away from 48th scale, but a Harvard is putting candy in front of a baby. I wonder if its a rebox of the Occidental kit!?

But the MB339 Boxart? ... Italian Plane in Argentinian Colours... firing on a Leander Class Frigate, F56, HMS Argonaut? Bad taste? On 21 May HMS Argonaut, along with other destroyers and frigates, provided close escort for the amphibious vessels during the successful landing at San Carlos Water. On that day, Argonaut was attacked twice by Argentinian aircraft. The first attack, by an Argentinian Navy Aermacchi MB-339, flown by Lieutenant Crippa, caused some damage, including to her Type 965 Radar, while the second attack was launched by five A-4 Skyhawks call sign Leo, which hit Argonaut with two bombs. Neither exploded, although one killed two sailors, Able Seaman Iain M. Boldy [1] and Able Seaman Matthew J. Stuart, when it entered the ship's Sea Cat missile magazine, detonating two missiles. Plymouth came to the assistance of Argonaut and towed her away from immediate danger. Both bombs were still active, and it took some days to deactivate them. (wiki)

In fairness their pilots fought well against us and we were shooting back, after all we do not mourn the loss of life on the General Belgrano.

Tried a few sites besides Italeri's home page to see if these kits are new or re-issued kits. No real information anywhere. I'm guessing that the P-51D/K is as re-release as there is just no logical reason for another new P-51D. As for the Harvard, that should prove quite appealing.
