Here's an update from MSW's own Kenny Loup[subhunter], owner, operator, and artist of Gators Paint Mask!

GPM's aircraft national insigna mask are now reuseable.
After some research and trials, Gator's has incorporated a way to reuse their vinyl insignia paint mask. The process for reuse involves a slightly thicker paint mask vinyl that gives the same great performance as the old vinyl, yet is strong enough to withstand the removal process.

After painting the insignia, apply a special clear application tape that will keep the vinyl mask from distorting. Carefully peel the mask and application tape away from the model and place back on the backing paper.

Do you want to build the Saab Viggen but don't want to tackle the camouflage?

Gator's offers vinyl masks to paint the 4 color camouflage scheme for the Viggen. They are offered in two scales, 1/72 and 1/48.

Hi Chuck Re-usable paint masks... hmmm, I've always been a bit put off by the "one shot wonder" nature of masks, so that does sound like an advance worth checking out... All the best Rowan
