Italeri have released the box art picture of the soon to be released 1/72nd kit of the twin engined A-26B Invader.
Historical Profile
The twin-engine attack aircraft A-26 Invader, designed and manufactured by the American company Douglas, has had an extraordinary long operational life. The first units reached the war front during the Second World War, in 1943, and the latest versions have taken part in all the major conflicts of the '50s and '60s, such as Korea and Indochina, until the Vietnam War. The most produced version was the A-26B characterized by the adoption of heavy weaponry in a “solid” nose equipped with 8 .50 caliber Browning M2 machine guns. Thanks to its reliability and solidity, was possible to install in the nose a wide range of weapons such as 20 mm. guns, 37 mm guns, and a 75mm pack howitzer. The two reliable Pratt & Whitney R-2800 "Double Wasp" 2,000 hp radial engines permitted to A-26 to reach a max speed of 570 Km/h even “fully loaded”.

The A-26 has been on my gotta build one for quite some time. Is this a new release or a re-issue? Joel

It is a reissue. Few years back the black camo version from Korea was a part from a Revell limited edition offer. It was on the market for just a year and sold out pretty quickly. If you are interested in the Invader it's a great little kit with plenty of AM detail sets to choose from.
