For the airline buff here is Roden's newest release.
Boeing 720 United - short-haul & medium-haul variant of the well-known Boeing 707 passenger aircraft, first flown in 1959. It differed from its predecessor with a shorter fuselage, a wing with greater sweep angle and new engineering. Series production lasted from 1960 to 1969, during this period 154 machines being built (65 units of Boeing 720 and 89 of the Boeing 720B). Despite the expectations of its developers, the type did not have the same great success as the Boeing 707 and therefore production was brought to an end. Apart from the use of these aircraft in the USA, some were sold in Germany, Israel, Ethiopia, Ireland and Pakistan. In some of these countries their service continued until the early 1990's.

Roden has finally switched from Douglass to Boeing. the 720 interesting place to start. I might have to try this. besides UA, Northwest, WAL, Continental and Braniff had them. Some of my favorites.

There have been complaints elsewhere that the engines are too large. Welsh Models does a 720, and Densil might be persuaded to sell the engines separately. Alternatively they can be robbed off the old Revell 707-120 kit. In time perhaps other aftermarket alternatives may be available, possibly from Authentic Airliners (but no official announcement has been made so this cannot be considered to be definite).
