Rumours have been rife about whether there's a tie-in between Hasegawa and DML for their new Fw 190s. Well, I found this intriguing info on Hobby Link Japan which might help explain things:
"Hasegawa's latest kit is this 190A-3, and if it looks a lot like the Dragon kit that would be because that's what it started out as! However Hasegawa retooled about 70% of the kit to clean it up and add some modifications that both add detail and make building easier.

Starting in the "office", the cockpit tub is now in one piece, just drop in the rudder pedals, stick, seat and instrument panel. An engine is included, adding detail and depth to this area that was previously lacking in Dragon kits.

There is now a large piece for the wheel wells that also acts as a wing spar, ala Hasegawa's 1/32 kits. New MLG extension arms offer much better detail and should fix the sit problem the Dragon kits suffer from.

The center panel between the wells is a separate piece, with parts in the box for planes with and without inner doors, so more variants are certainly coming. Also both types of vertical stabilizer antenna mounts are in the box, which means you can build an early A-4 out-of-the-box as well, if you have the decals, that is!

Unused parts include the lower wing center panel mentioned above, late-model wheels, lower wing inserts for different weapon arrangments, c/l rack, drop tank and bomb (not used for the kit markings), A-4 style armored headrest and separate upper and lower MLG strut/wheel covers.

Decals are for "Assi" Hahn's aircraft of III./JG2 as well as "black 13" of 8./JG2 with the large eagle-head design across the forward fuselage and cowl."
