AZ Models have recently released three kits representing different Spitfires Mk.IXc of the „early” type.

The kits have generally the same sprues but comes in three different boxings as follows:

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc ,,MTO'' - AZ7390

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc ,,Aces'' - AZ7391

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc ,,Early tails'' - AZ7392


The kits have 45 plastic parts, one resin and one clear part of canopy.

Attached picture comes from the producer website and represents test shots of sprues so can easily notify flashes or other inaccuracies.

Judging from the sprues layout we can expect soon release of “late” type Ixc's – there are early and late type elevators, two types of rudder, two types of carburetor intake, two types of wheels and two types of wing bulges for 20mm cannon drum. It is not clearly visible on the photographs but the wings seems to come as “clipped”. There are also separate “standard” wing tips. As none of the painting schemes offered by AZ Models represents “clipped” wing Spitfire you will have to convert your kit into “standard” wing version, what is also shown in the assembly instruction. This means that the model requires some experience and specific tools so it may cause some difficulties for very-begginers of children. Anyway, due to the large variety of details offers a good base for individual conversions and gives a chance for building a particular machine without the need of cannibalizing other kits or using aftermarket sets.
