Italeri is cooking something delicious, especialy for 1/72 scale enthusiasts. Dish of the day will be brand new Short Sunderland Mk.I.
Company have revealed photographs of the first test shot. As you can notice the kit will contain some photo-etched parts, optional positions of bomb racks, optional undercarriage for ground transport. Unfortunatelly there are some ejector pin marks visible between the ribs of internal structure which may cause some difficulties while removing.

Here's the company note published on their official website.

Dear Friends,
we are proud to share with you the development, step by step, of our new 1/72 scale model dedicated to Short Sunderland Mk. 1. After the CAD simulation, the first new moulds and the illustrated profiles, we would like to show you the pictures of the assembly tests with some internal and external details.
Short Sunderland will be available on the best shops and model stores very soon : starting from September 2012.

That looks pretty sweet. Personally I wouldn't be too worried about the ejector marks. Theyr'e on the inside and will barely be seen onces it closed up. Looks like its got a nice selection of markings too. I think I may have found my christmas present for this year.
