Italeri have announced absolutely new model kit in their offer of the British Westland Wessex UH 5 helicopter in 1/48 scale.
Item no. 2720.

Not much can be said about this kit yet. There should be brand new sprues and four attractive painting schemes. Inside the box we will be also able to find a photo-etched fret.

This kit continues the Italeri releases commemorating the Falkland War.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.

. I want one as well but my "stack reduction objective" stands in the way. Hence, for now this heli will only figure on my "definitively need to have" list together with the Hasegawa Draken and a few other kits. The advantage of such list is that it takes less space (and is a lot cheaper) than an actual stack

Rotor out

Hi Guys, I was sent a couple of these kits a couple of months back, generally it's good but you can see where Italeri jumped over form the H-34 to get the Wessex released in time for the Falklands 40th anniversary. The kit has some shortcomings but if you want to build it 'out of the box', it will look the part. Best reference sorce is the 4+ publication. Colin

Good news for you Wessex fans, since I recieved my kits, I've mastered a folded main rotorhead with corrected and additional detail. To complement this I have also mastered the folded tail and the early HU Mk5 nose intake. To follow this I have on the bench (95% complete) the HAS Mk1 nose and other parts. Keep checking the A2Zee site for release dates etc. Colin @ ROTORcraft
