Alley Cat has announced the release of resin upgrade sets for the Airfix 1/72 Vickers Valiant. There are three different sets of upgrades or all three sets can be purchased as one.

Here they are three new sets for the Airfix Vickers Valiant. These sets have taken a little longer to prepare as I have had to take and make some tricky decisions on the parts from design and research aspects. Unfortunately there are no really comprehensive drawings and photographic walk round from 'every' angle and close up of this huge aircraft so some areas are and have been open to a little bit of interpretation. Three friends that have assisted greatly in the project was Dennis Robinson and Andy Davies once again without the help of these two guys the sets may not have even happened and a third 'phantom' helper who wishes to remain anonymous. Andy even made up the master pattern for the Super Sprite pods, and all three provided a vast amount of information and references.
The first set tackles the wings, and tail surfaces of the model, and supplies new parts and corrected vortex generators, the second set is a detailing and correction set for all of the wheel bays, main and nose wheel, the final set is a pair of Super Sprite rocket packs that were tested on the Valiant. Note the Super Sprites open up a few 'what if type options'.
I am sure that these sets will be well received and will add that there maybe a few small difference in opinion on the wing and tail set that I have done and designed, but after hours of studying photographs and interpreting images and drawings and making various versions along the way I believe that I have made some significant improvements that will enhance a model, but I will not and cannot claim 100% accuracy, as without huge expense to actually measure the example at Cosford accurately I do not believe that it can really be achieved.
