Operational Overview The Frog model company was one of the major forces in popularizing styrene model kits, especially model airplanes, in Britain and elsewhere, in the 1950s and 60s. The company went out of business in 1973, but their designs live on and have been produced by numerous firms in various countries, right up to the present day.
The mission is to complete a kit which came from the Frog manufacturing company or one of its descendants, using whatever skills and materials prove necessary to achieve a pleasing result. The Rules and Regs "Any airplane or ship model delivered from any molds developed by the Frog model company, or sold under their marque during their existence."
"The entrant will be required to cite evidence of pedigree, for any kit without the 'FROG' marque on the label - educate us about the Frog diaspora."
"Any desired finish and decoration, prototypical or fictional, is allowed."
"Any modification, aftermarket or scratchbuilt, up to 50% by weight is allowed, that is, the finished model must be mostly a Frog."
"vintage kits are sometimes partly started by previous owners, this is acceptable, but in good faith, campaigners must not add work to the model before the start date."
"post work in progress pics in the campaign thread."
"post at least two clear pics of the finished model to the campaign gallery"
Contest Element Entrants who finish an approved model and post photos in the gallery by the close date will receive the campaign ribbon. Entrants may complete as many kits as they wish within the allotted time, but only one ribbon will be awarded. |
