Operational Overview The conflict in Vietnam was one of the longest, most brutal, and eventually most publicly recognized wars after WWII. It was a time of great change around the world, and was particularly felt by the the countries involved in the occupation and conflict of this region of Southeast Asia. Media and politics found new footholds, cultures clashed on nearly infinite levels, the Jet Age had finally come into its own and the race for growth and development seemed to yield unlimited possibilities, ground warfare found itself in unfamiliar territory as tried and true tactics and equipment suddenly became clumsy and awkward, and naval fleets advanced into previously unthinkable power and lethality. This campaign is intended to raise and further the awareness of the Vietnam conflict post WWII and to remember those who served and died on all sides in this remote region of the world, as well as to foster the learning of new skills and techniques for modeling on all levels. The Rules and Regs -An emphasis on any subject matter from 1955-1975, subject matter from the French involvement prior to this is welcome as well.
