Operational Overview
This campaign is to paint a figure based on any character found in books written by J.R.R. Tolkien. It could be an officially licensed figure such as are currently made by Mithril (based on the book) and Games Workshop (based on the movie), an unofficial figure such as one made by Andrea, or it could be a figure painted to be a LOTR character (such as any guy in robes and a pointy hat to be Gandalf, any elf archer painted to be Legolas, ranger looking guy painted as Strider and so on). You could even repaint an action figure. Any character from the Hobbit , Lord of the Rings, or Silmarillion (there are no official Silmarillion figures, by the way) are allowed.

Note: not all figures made by Games Workshop and Mithril are canonical characters. If there is any doubt, feel free to ask. (GW made up some characters for their games and a few Mithril figures are based on MERP.)

The Rules and Regs
Rules:
No regs as to scale. Anything goes.
While this is primarily a painting campaign, if someone would like to sculpt a figure instead, that is fine too.
Let us know what you're intending on doing for the campaign.
At least one picture needs to be posted in the Anything Tolkien campaign gallery before the deadline.

Contest Element
In addition to the feeling of satisfaction for a job completed, a ribbon will be awarded to all participants who complete the mission.
