Preparing to build my AMT/ERTL Boston IV (A-20J Havoc in US service) and was wondering if there was a gunsight in the cockpit for the two forward firing .50's as there is no mention of it in the kit, and I hav some spare photo-etch gunsights. Anyone know?

Thanks, Erik

I didn't ask the question, but happened to be passing by ...

Neat reference shot.

I see the reflector sight at item 3 -- is that a "ring & bead" (on a swinging arm?) (no item #) nearby ? Maybe use the reflector sight aginst aerial targets & the other in air-ground ?

Also, would the IV still have the simple sight out on the nose ? Is that what Bren might have been referring to ?

Hi John

Yes again. The A-20J (Boston IV) had an external bead sight (to go with the ring) just like the solid-nose version.

Hi again Erik

Sorry, I meant to reply sooner, but work intervened...

Hopefully this pic should give you an idea of what the external sight looked like.

All the best

Rowan
